MWC Professional Military Diver 300m – Swiss Sellita SW200 Automatic with Sapphire Crystal, Ceramic Bezel & NATO Webbing Strap

Product Code: SUB/SS/B/A/SE2

This diver’s watch features a robust stainless steel case and is powered by a high-performance Swiss Sellita SW200 26-jewel self-winding movement.

The watch has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a ceramic bezel insert for improved durability and long-term wear resistance.

These models offer excellent value for a Swiss automatic diver and are competitively priced considering the quality of the movement and overall specification.

The case measures 40mm excluding the crown (45mm including the crown). The dial uses Super-Luminova for strong low-light visibility, and the watch is supplied with a standard 20mm NATO military webbing strap. The strap can easily be exchanged for other NATO variants, allowing a wide range of colour and style options.

Why Choose Sapphire Crystal?

Many customers ask about the benefits of sapphire crystal over a standard mineral crystal. Synthetic sapphire is the best material for watch crystals due to its exceptional strength and resistance to shattering and scratching. These characteristics make it ideal for military and security personnel, police officers, and individuals with active outdoor lifestyles, who make up over 70% of our customers.

When accidents result in cracked crystals, over 90% involve watches with mineral glass crystals. Even with hardened mineral crystals, they do not compare to sapphire for durability under adverse conditions. Sapphire crystals are strong because they undergo a heat-treatment process that removes internal stresses, which can cause weakness. After manufacturing, the sapphire glass is made into watch crystals, and two layers of anti-reflective coating are applied. Interestingly, sapphire crystal is now used on the latest iPhones. Due to its higher cost, sapphire crystal is typically found only in higher-end watches.
