MWC Classic 1970s Pattern MIL-W-46374 Pattern Military Watch on a Black Military Webbing Strap

This watch is virtually identical in appearance to those used by American GIs at the end of the Vietnam War. The late Vietnam watches, designated MIL-W-47374A, were the replacement for the earlier plastic models deemed disposable. It is likely that the US government and the watch manufacturers of the time recognized, as we did, that plastic watches were not durable enough for military use. Interestingly, around 20 years ago, we upgraded all our Vietnam watches from plastic to metal cases, improving their durability and overall quality. Disposable watches are clearly not cost-effective in the long run.
